POFPS Committees' Responsibilities and Time Commitment
Membership Committee
Develops strategies to engage and recruit new members while ensuring retention of existing members.
Meets on average once a quarter for one-hour meetings in the evening via Zoom.
Education Committee
Plans annual CME symposium and Patient Safety Series by selecting topics and speakers.
Meets approximately 4-5 times a year (most meetings less than 30 minutes.)
ACOFP Liaison Committee
Reviews and develops resolutions for the ACOFP Congress of Delegates in March/April.
Leads the POFPS delegation.
Creates and develops responses to any ACOFP request for inquiry.
Awards Committee
Considers award applications on their merits and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
Will be developing updated criteria for awards in the coming years.
Meets approximately 2-3 times a year for 30-60 minute evening meetings.
Bylaws Committee
Develops bylaw change language as directed by the Board of Trustees.
The organization has done a large overhaul in the past year to its bylaws, but additional work is still needed.
Meets when needed via Zoom in the evening 30–60-minute calls.
